The summer after my freshman year of high school, I worked as a lifeguard at my neighborhood pool. It was my first job and provided valuable experience in customer relations since I was always interacting with the pool-goers. The biggest revelation I had during my time there was that I would not enjoy a job in which I felt I was not working towards something meaningful. The job was too monotonous for me, hence why I only worked there for a single summer.
